Angela Johana Niño Castillo is a Civil Engineer serving as an Estimating Engineer, with responsibilities spanning project familiarization, quantity take-offs, cost estimating, subcontractor and supplier coordination, scope review, risk identification, and bid preparation. She reviews project plans, specifications, addenda, and related documentation to develop accurate estimates and works closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, estimators, and operations teams throughout the pre-construction and project handoff process.

Her role also includes participating in pre-bid meetings and site visits, preparing bid summaries and proposals, maintaining historical cost databases, ensuring compliance with applicable construction standards and requirements, and supporting improvements to estimating processes and tools. She regularly communicates bid progress, outstanding items, schedule risks, and resource needs to project and estimating leadership.

Angela earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Civil Engineering from Santo Tomás University in 2014 and previously completed a Professional Technician qualification in Graphic Development for Construction Projects from SENA in 2012. She is currently pursuing postgraduate studies specializing in Construction Pathology. Her professional development also includes training in Microsoft Project, CAD, leadership and teamwork, as well as participation in civil engineering conferences covering areas such as geotechnics, pavement engineering, water resources, environmental topics, and new technologies.

Professionally, Angela enjoys challenges that allow her to continue learning, develop new skills, and expand her industry experience. Outside of work, she values spending time with her family, meditation and prayer, and maintaining an active lifestyle through sports.
